Comments — Disqus
Articles with comments enabled load the Disqus comment widget (operated by Zeta Global). We use a paid plan with advertising disabled.

Social media embeds — X (Twitter)
Some articles contain embedded posts from X (formerly Twitter). These embeds are not loaded automatically. They appear as a placeholder until you click "Load post".

Browser localStorage (not cookies)
